You open the game tab. SBURB is loaded and prepped, ready to go on the launcher! The game tab registers all of your friends as current players! There seems to be a listed player base on the SBURB menu. A session counter, numbers of players, an achievements tab, the works. Looks like... jeez, there's no way there's only seven active users (including you) but over a billion players total! No way that's right. Additionally, none of the prior players usernames are listed at all, nor are their names legible in any meaningful way. Like it was written in chicken scratch or something.
But hey, look at that! It lists neuroticPresident and outrageousZoologist as prior players--each clocking in... damn, over four days of game time each. Must be another glitch on the launcher, this game did come out a week or so ago, but there's no way they could play for four days straight. Zoologist takes naps pretty frequently. That or they're just ghosting you when you message them.
The tab dings. Seems like NP and OZ sent you a friend request and a group request. Accepting both, you're grouped together with your buddies game wise. Nice.

OZ: when we started our game, i did some messing around on my end. hacked the game, for both of us. To push how far this little alpha could go
OZ: funnily enough this game is almost airtight in a way, no real way to bust it to work in my favor. spent four straight days trying to crack into it and make it work the way i want. Hasn’t worked yet.

Well, looks like that’s that. You learned two things. One, OZ HAS been ghosting you. That hurts a little. And two, it was to cheat in a game you guys were going to play together as a group! Well, you know who’s weird house thing YOU won’t be visiting.

You pull your hat over your face, and... fail to cry. To be honest, it didn't make you THAT sad. OZ was only really your "friend" because she was a friend of a friend. Putting your hat back on, you close out Pesterchum and tap your desk, waiting for the others to install.

YOU ARE ASSAULTED BY A CHARACTER SELECT SCREEN! It seems that OZ is blacked out! Would have been nifty to have this sweet looking screen earlier when actually sorting through all of this. Though, there are still five other characters to choose from (including Virginia). Strangely enough, it looks like NP is blacked out too…
