Okay so this has been floatin’ around in my head for a bit. I was wonderin’ what y’all’s opinions, ideas, and theories on how the more abstract Aspects may work. (While this thread may focus on the Abstract ones like Blood, Rage, and Doom. Feel free to also contribute on any of your ideas on the others too! B>)
Anyways! Onto my own questions and wonderin’s. I’m quite curious on how Doom might operate, like what it would do. Maybe it might be able to call upon the skills of the dead, with its relation to fate? (This would all vary based on the Class of course). Perhaps havin’ a Doom Player in one’s game might be like a get-out-of jail free-card, as they could divert Doomin’ the timeline in some way?

well for one it absolutely depends on the class!!! with more i guess active classes like princes, witches, knights, i think a player would be able to alter their surrounding environment/other entities, i.e. maybe a prince of doom could act in a similar way to a life player-- destroying doom converting into healing!
with hope blood and rage im not as sure.. i could see hope and rage as either having some sort of effect on the moods of people around them, or weaponising the beliefs or lack of such to actually come true, like how jake's classpect works!

Oh that Active Class idea makes so much sense. I could see an Active Class Doom Player messin' with their opponents luck or life.
I can see how Hope can be weaponized (in no small part thanks to Jake) but I wonder how Rage would work. Mayhaps somethin' like the Hulk (but not so OP, or blatantly ripped off from it)? Your Prince of Doom example actually gave me an idea as how a Prince ofBlood might work, with a Prince of Blood perhaps destroyin' the connections one has to themselves (i.e. they'd become less of themself in some way, maybe a chivalrous characters connection to their sense of honor is destroyed thus making them un-honorable? (inhonorable?? what's the opposite of honorable..)).
These ones are always a bit confusin' seein' as how vague they are, but its fun to debate them lol BP
personally i associate doom heavily with rules but also sburb code? (jaspers lalonde in guidestuck is a prince of doom btw) the idea of a doom player being able to break sburb in their favor instead of it being random/on its own seems super fun to me. there was a lot of prophecy dealings as well but wording it as fate in the hiveswap test confused a lot of people i think.
i think rage also would deal more with the actual dead? just as a guess because of the aesthetics as well as in hiveswap too.
hope seems like the most powerful and broken aspect and i think itd be kind of interesting to see if someone could make limits for it that made sense because otherwise, you could just have a player that hopes they win

Rage dealin' with the dead is a new take for me, but a welcome one! I could honestly see it, death has negative connotations the same as rage/anger, with both havin' a light side (so to speak). What exactly are you thinkin' though, if you don't mind me askin' B)
Also Hope is honestly so busted, like you said. Just HAVIN' a Hope Player hopin' they win is already OP. Seein' some rules or restrictions on that Aspect would be cool, especially with how they might work.
Onto Doom, yeah fate=/=prophecy. The wordin' muddies it all up, especially because now it can be taken one of three ways. The only fate/prophecy way, and the mix the two of them to see what you can make way. It was already confusin' as is, but addin' that misunderstandin' just makes it so much more Bx-x
as a mage of blood who does so "accidentally" seem to keep making blood fankids. and hates to repeat aspect powers (or at least have them all overlap too similarly). theres a lot of interpretations ive been able to squeeze under blood and what it could mean
Status Quo (tho, this might be fallin a bit on the coin itself that it shares with Breath)
Comfort (this one gets a bit blurry but when you consider the classes of our canon examples... yeah it might fit in)
Iron, metal, steels and such (okay this ones a bit obvious, but ive had some fun metalbending with it!)
Promises, Contracts (karma might fall here... though i feel like thats tethering on Mind and maybe Rage)
Minimum and Necessity (you know, blood, it pumps our stuff)
Literal blood, though its amazing just how far it extends, veins, muscles, just bodies in general might fall in this category
Persistence and Stubborness
Reality, but more importantly, sanity (its all fun and games until someone gets hurt)
History, or i suppose Legacy would be more accurate. though in a more personal way than Light
though ive also had a bit of rage thoughts alongside blood due to having a lot to think about with a seer of rage character.
some ideas ive come up on rage are that of righteous revenge, desire (or at leats in a sense of burning desire), spite, which seems a bit obvious, but its a more subdued form of outright hatred. theres theater themes ive also played around with! themes and prophecies and "what will happen will happen", despair like that of cassandra trying to warn others to no avail, fire has also become a really common part of my moveset, though maybe due to a podcast ive been listening to... non destructive but still damaging fire is what comes to mind. still lots to work on with my theater/prophecies thing but il get the time to go around it one of these days
just leavin a little bit of something everywhere every time
