'Twas curious, since I've seen a bit about music on this forum, about your guy's music taste! We do already got a general Homestuck music thread, but I figured if y'all wanted to talk about non-Homestuck related music I might as well start a thread for it. B) (Please leave artist discussions out of this, as I know some music artists aren't... the best. You can still like the music/song without liking the artist and that's what this is for B> )
I'll start, since I've started this thread lol BP Generally speaking, I don't tend to favor one genre of music over the others (with my only exception being Country Music. I've heard too much of it Bx-x). But I can say I frequent a lot of Breakcore songs. A favorite of mine would be "I HATE EVERYTHING AND YOU" - By Be4vtyFall. Now to turn this to y'all. Any favorite genre or microgenre's y'all like? B)
(Just in case anyone doesn't know what Breakcore is: It's "a style and microgenre of electronic dance music that emerged from jungle, hardcore, and drum and bass in the mid-to-late 1990s. It is characterized by very complex and intricate breakbeats and a wide palette of sampling sources played at high tempos". Taken directly from Google lol BP)

i'm legally and morally obligated to tell every living person to listen to will wood/will wood and the tapeworms (same artist under different names). he's currently under an indefinite hiatus but he has four albums plus two live albums and they're all amazing, though pretty stylistically different as time goes on. i'd recommend listening to the albums in chronological order just because it gives a better feel for his music.
i listen to a good, healthy bit of everything as well, but my favorite particular flavors of music are: 70s and 80s alternative/new wave + early goth, 2000s emo and pop punk, nu metal, whatever crack gorillaz puts in their music, any and all vocaloid/vocal synth music, sterotypical gay man music (britney spears, lady gaga, you get it), 90s alternative and grunge, and dark cabaret.
some of my favorite artists are will wood (duh), gorillaz, MCR, they might be giants, oingo boingo, talking heads, blur, tally hall/miracle musical/cojum dip, ghost BC, babymetal, jhariah, IDKhow, and some other stuff.

Will Wood is hands down the music ever LOL I love his music so much, every single one just digs itself a nice little spot in your brain to go on loop in BD Right now, my personally favorite of his, is Euthanasia. The tune is amazin' and the lyrics make me fold my hands together and nod my head like an approving father BP
Gotta say, you got some great music taste B) What type of music does jhariah post? I've never heard of them and it's an interesting name (band name?) sooo B>

Listen to Birdeatsbaby. If you didn't see the rec already, of course. Also, if anyone has any good dark cabaret songs or a good normal (not TikTok) goth playlist I'd love to hear it. Friend suggested a few already but hey, new shit is cool.

i also... listen to just about everything orz lately ive been really into master boot record (SUPER recommend if you like metal and chiptune, they do some really cool stuff) and cade crider (seriously, check him out if you like nirvana or experimental rock). im also big into weird parody music and 90s jrock and i can usually find something i enjoy in just about any song tbh.
As CGAT and personalgardener said, Will wood is a really good artist.
Aside from him, I like a wide variety of musical artists & genres. I've recently been listening to a lot of midwest emo, especially cursive (check them out!). That being said, for anyone interested in goth music, i'd reccomend "Scary Bitches", and if you're looking for a (british) queer punk band DEFINITELY check out gum disease! I also listen to a looooot of Broadway homestuck music because unfortunately for me the autism is unending.

Oooh I love Karkat: be a fanboy, my other favourites are probably Fuck you Eridan, Ave Mary Am, and Strider be mine. (I have a full playlist of just broadway homestuck songs, so the songs I've mentioned aren't the only ones I like, just the ones I like the MOST)

I know a shit ton of songs. I have a playlist with well over 2,000 songs on Spotify.

Y'all got some good taste in music I gotta say B)
I checked out what y'all recommended and honestly, it's right up my alley! Honestly no surprise I liked Power Cords, I'm into all that loud music and crunchy lyric shiz B) I listened to The Recluse from Cursive and (while ain't as loud as Birdeatsbaby or Power Cords) it's vibin' I gotta say. More slowed down and chill, which I'm all for B) Speakin' of Birdeatsbaby, I got a bit of whiplash from two of their songs (Hex to The Trouble) but honestly I like bands that aren't afraid of switchin' things up every now and then.
Anyways, enough gushin' bout music! Time to recommended some more music LOL I definitely suggest "pain is gone, only embers remained" by Yabai the Maid. A chill song to counteract the breakcore one I suggested LOL And finally (for a song with actual lyrics) I'm gonna hafta suggest mememe by 100 gecs. Nice beat and quite catchy, been in my brain for days already BP
(Also: TC, Pixel subgenre? What's that if you don't mind me askin', it looks interestin' B) )

Pixel, or pixel pop, is an electronic music subgenre that takes a lot of inspirations from 80's and 90's 8 and 16 bit music. It's the genre of chiptune melodies. Stuff like :3 by SHOOB2000 or Spiff'ed It's little BeepBox melody are some examples of pixel music.
